AIDA serves as the unified voice of India’s distillery, alcohol, and ethanol sectors, engaging closely with the Government of India, State Governments, and regulatory authorities on ethanol blending, pricing, feedstock availability, and excise frameworks.
Through constructive dialogue and representation, AIDA works to resolve regulatory challenges and promote a stable, progressive, and investment-friendly policy environment.
AIDA plays a critical role in collecting, analysing, and disseminating industry data on ethanol and alcohol production, feedstock utilisation, capacity expansion, and operational efficiency.
Through its Technical Committee, the Association facilitates knowledge exchange on modern distillation technologies, alternate grain-based ethanol, energy optimisation, and advanced effluent treatment systems.
Sustainability is a cornerstone of AIDA’s long-term vision. The Association actively promotes zero liquid discharge, renewable energy integration, bio-CNG, and circular utilisation of distillery by-products.
AIDA also facilitates international engagement through study tours, global conferences, and access to international technical and commercial resources, enabling Indian distillers to benchmark against global standards.
AIDA conceptualises and organises conferences, technical conclaves, sustainability forums, policy dialogues, workshops, plant visits, and international knowledge exchanges.
Each platform is curated to encourage informed discussion, innovation, collaboration, and capacity building across the distillery, ethanol, and allied sectors.
AIDA supports its members through structured technical training and skill-upgradation programmes, including:
• Latest Technology Sessions on modern distillery and ethanol production systems • Capacity-Building Programmes for plant heads, engineers, and technical teams • Fermentation Optimisation techniques for yield improvement and process stability • Environmental Compliance & Sustainability training, including ZLD, spent wash management, and regulatory norms • New Distillation & Dehydration Technologies for enhanced efficiency and product quality • Energy Efficiency & Utilities Optimisation, covering steam, power, water, and fuel management • Emerging Bioenergy Solutions, including CBG, SAF pathways, advanced biofuels, and co-product valorisation These training initiatives are delivered through expert-led workshops, technical conclaves, webinars, and plant-level knowledge sessions, enabling AIDA members to stay future-ready, compliant, and globally competitive.
