Significant initiatives and achievements by AIDA and the industry
AIDA acted as a key interface between the government and the industry, contributing to the achievement of 10% ethanol blending by June 2022 and the E20 target by 2025, well ahead of the original timelines.
AIDA strongly advocated for the use of alternative grains such as rice, maize, and millets for ethanol production, addressing limitations of molasses availability.
Through policy engagement such as the 6% interest subvention scheme, AIDA enabled large-scale investments, including the establishment of India’s largest grain-based and multi-feed ethanol plants.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, AIDA members swiftly shifted production to manufacture hand sanitizers, supporting national public health efforts.
AIDA promoted advanced effluent treatment technologies, enabling Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) and conversion of waste into valuable by-products such as potash fertilizer.
AIDA strengthened its global presence through international tours and collaboration with organizations like the US Grains Council for knowledge and technology exchange.
Organized national technical seminars and conferences including major events in Bengaluru (June 2023) and October 2024 to share best practices and innovations.
