Rectified Spirit (RS) & Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA)

Rectified Spirit & Extra Neutral Alcohol

Purity • Performance • Backbone of India’s Alcohol Industry

Rectified Spirit (RS)

Rectified Spirit is a high-strength, purified ethanol produced by the distillation of fermented molasses, grains, or other sugar-containing feedstocks. It typically contains up to 96% alcohol by volume (ABV) and is widely used as a raw material for the production of potable alcohol, industrial alcohol, pharmaceuticals, and alcoholic beverages.

Produced from sugarcane molasses, grains, or other fermentable materials
Alcohol content: up to 96% ABV
Used as feedstock for ENA, spirits, and industrial applications
Requires strict regulatory & taxation compliance
Rectified Spirit
Extra Neutral Alcohol

Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA)

Extra Neutral Alcohol is highly purified ethanol obtained by further processing of rectified spirit. ENA is virtually free from impurities and odour, making it suitable for potable alcohol production, blending into alcoholic beverages, and industrial applications.

Alcohol content: 96.3% ABV or higher
Neutral in taste and odour
Used in whisky, rum, vodka and spirits
Also used in pharma, cosmetics & solvents

Production Process (Simplified)

Fermentation – Sugars converted to alcohol using yeast
Distillation – Produces Rectified Spirit (RS)
Further Purification – Produces Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA)

Significance in India
